What is ProxyApp?

ProxyApp provides ethically sourced HTTP residential proxies. A residential proxy routes your traffic through a real residential IP address, which makes it far more reliable for browsing and account access than a datacentre IP which could flag your session.

What type of proxies do you offer?

We offer HTTP residential proxies only. All of our proxies use ethically obtained residential IP addresses.

Do you offer SOCKS5 proxies?

No, we do not offer SOCKS5 proxies. We only offer HTTP proxies.

Is ProxyApp linked to SMSPool?

Yes. ProxyApp and SMSPool share the same account and balance. If you already have an SMSPool account, you can log straight into ProxyApp with the same details, and any balance you hold works across both services.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept cards, cryptocurrency, and cash via ProxySto.re. Your balance is shared with your SMSPool account, so funds you deposit can be used on either service.

How do I set up my proxy?

If you wish to use our proxy via a Desktop browser, you can do this via the FoxyProxy Web Extension. Our full guide which includes screenshots and a video is here: How do I set up my ProxyApp HTTP residential proxy.

How is my usage billed?

Usage is billed against the amount of bandwidth you have purchased. Please note that you can generate as many unique proxy credentials as you like, but they all draw from the same bandwidth balance you purchased.

What is the difference between sticky and rotating proxies?

A sticky proxy keeps the same IP address for roughly 5 minutes, which is best for account management or browsing. A rotating proxy gives you a brand new IP address on every single request. If you need a consistent IP, generate a sticky proxy otherwise your IP will change on every request.

Which countries can I choose from?

You select your country when generating your proxy credentials on the proxy dashboard, for example the United States or United Kingdom.

How do I check if my proxy is working?

Once your proxy is enabled, visit https://ip.me to confirm your IP address has changed to the location you selected. If it shows the expected location, your proxy is working correctly.

Are there any websites I cannot access?

Yes. Our proxies are ethically sourced, therefore we block websites that are targeted for abuse such as banking sites. Once logged in, you can check whether a site is blocked using our blocklist checker. If you are unsure, open a ticket and send us the exact URL and we can check it for you.

I'm getting an Error 407, what should I do?

Error 407 is a proxy authentication error. The most common cause of this error is leaving the port number inside the "Hostname" field. Make sure the hostname contains only the IP address, and that the port goes in its own separate "Port" field. Our setup guide shows exactly how each field should be filled in.

What do other common errors mean?

Most proxy errors come down to credentials, ports, or the site you're visiting itself. Here are the errors you're more likely to see:

  • 403 Forbidden: The website you're visiting is refusing the IP, or the site is on our blocklist. Check it with the blocklist checker, and try generating a fresh sticky proxy.
  • 429 Too Many Requests: This means the website you're visiting is rate-limiting you, usually from rotating IPs too quickly. Try switching to a sticky proxy session so your requests come from a consistent IP.
  • ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED (Chrome/Brave): The proxy could not be reached. Double-check the inserted hostname and port, and make sure the proxy is toggled on in FoxyProxy.
  • ERR_TUNNEL_CONNECTION_FAILED (Chrome/Brave): An HTTPS connection through the proxy failed. This is almost always a wrong port or incorrect username/password.
  • Connection timed out or refused: This usually means you're entering the wrong port number, or the proxy is not enabled in FoxyProxy.

A 404 error is not a proxy issue. It comes from the website you are visiting, not from us, it usually means the page could not be found on that website.

My proxy isn't working, what information should I provide?

To help us investigate quickly, please open a ticket with the following:

  • Your proxy information
  • Your SMSPool username
  • The exact website you are trying to access
  • A screenshot of your proxy configuration
  • Where you are using the proxy, and whether it is via FoxyProxy

Before contacting us, try visiting https://ip.me to check whether the proxy is connecting at all, and double-check your setup against our setup guide.
